A Different Viewpoint on Genealogical Research
Overview

This is the portal page for a number of different programs, all of which, are designed to present a new way of researching genealogy.

While many new software packages have come and gone, the way genealogy is researched hasn't changed to reflect the on-line research venues now available to the average person.

Current thinking is that all programs must adhere to a format which allows gedom exporting, an old technology. Programs concentrate on fancy reports, impresssive graphics and a stress on numbers, not accuracy. It limits the parameters of full research. It doesn't allow for variations in names, it ignores to a great extent, maiden names, and what you end up with, for a listing of people, is a lot of question marks for first names instead of data.

We need to go back to facilitating accurate research and listing the facts. The graphics, reports, etc are the afterfact.

Using a wiki format to do genealogical research, the same program used by WikiPedia (the world's largest general information resource), is a bit innovative, but it allows an easy search for name variations, a major problem for researchers. It also allows a much easier display of peripheral information such as documents, photos, etc. The search function for locating data quickly is unsurpassed.
